Sunday, December 20, 2020 - This might be their 3rd tier Chard, but it sure stands up well on its own. Perhaps as the Indian Ocean continues to cool, all Chardonnay boats will rise in Margaret River?
Burgundian...in aroma only – poached pears, & hazelnuts on the nose – very clean & fresh.
The palate is intense (once at 50°) & mid weight. Creamy, almost yogurty texture (perhaps from the lees stirring?) with stone fruit & grapefruit flavors. No MLF. Solid mineral finish. Tempered use of oak here - not much new, I suppose.
Drinking well in its youth but can go several years – no doubt.
