Saturday, October 14, 2023 - At home with Valerie, with some chicken Florentine. Chilled, PnP, drank over 2 hours. First notes on this vintage of Ritchie designate.

Medium yellow/gold color. Tropical fruit and saline on the nose (some heat?). Palate of candied pineapple, lemon meringue, baked apple, butterscotch. A lot going on here, citrus persists through the mid palate. Full body, long finish.

Very good, however, the one criticism I would have is there was more alcohol on the nose and though the mid palate than I have experienced. While the wine continued to evolve over the time we drank it, the heat became more notable an hour+ in. Creates some distraction from an otherwise very good Aubert
