Saturday, October 21, 2017 - 2017 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/16/2017-10/25/2017 (New York City, NY): This medium ruby wine is comprised of 92% Sangiovese, with the remainder split between Malvasia Nera and Colorino. Offering bright raspberry and cherry fruit with a supporting cast of baking spices, tobacco and loamy earth, it is medium-bodied, freshly acidic and has nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 13.5%). While deceivingly approachable from the attack through the solid middle palate, it flashes some gritty tannins on the lengthy finish. Give this one some time. Drink 2019-2030.

9/14/2021 10:29:00 PM - Hi srh: We used to embrace our yearly trips to NY for the Wine Spectator NY Wine Experience. Last year there was no event because of Covid. This year the event is being held with limited attendance. We are taking a hard pass on anything from Manhattan. It is, unfortunately, a war zone...just like Manhattan from the '70s. I guess you could say that it is "a trip down memory lane" (unfortunately). We will not return to NY until they clean up their act.
