Sunday, April 14, 2024 - Deep straw color, verging on golden. Cleraly aged. Very expressive nose dominated by green apples, lime, some baked lemon, and a clear streak of oil and petroleum. Both elegant and heavy at the same time. Full bodied attack, lots of fruit up front, lime, lemon, pineapple and a smoky touch that reminds me a bit of botrytis (?). The mid palate is super-fresh with an almost tannic feel to it. Lots of excotic fruit and lime that follows in to along, fresh and pteroleum tainted finish where that smoky touch reemerges in the aftertaste. Lingers for almost a minute. A very serious wine that maybe is a bit heavy and fruit driven for a GG fro this area. Still a great wine that has evolved nicely and will keep for many years. It will probably become even more “heavy”, but maybe also more mineral. Super with sushi.
