  • Deep straw color, verging on golden. Cleraly aged. Very expressive nose dominated by green apples, lime, some baked lemon, and a clear streak of oil and petroleum. Both elegant and heavy at the same time. Full bodied attack, lots of fruit up front, lime, lemon, pineapple and a smoky touch that reminds me a bit of botrytis (?). The mid palate is super-fresh with an almost tannic feel to it. Lots of excotic fruit and lime that follows in to along, fresh and pteroleum tainted finish where that smoky touch reemerges in the aftertaste. Lingers for almost a minute. A very serious wine that maybe is a bit heavy and fruit driven for a GG fro this area. Still a great wine that has evolved nicely and will keep for many years. It will probably become even more “heavy”, but maybe also more mineral. Super with sushi.

  • Bright straw colored with brilliant streaks of green. It has an oily look, as well. Expressive nose of yellow apples, citrus, crushed stone and a slight hint of petroleum. May appear a bit heavy on the nose. The mouth, however, erases that impression. The first attack is yellow apples and some peach and pineapple, but on the mid palate the acidity kicks in to clean the mouth. Lots of chalk and crush stone on the finish, before the almost tropical fruit emerge again in the aftertaste. The final impression is - like the nose - a bit heavy. A large wine that has just begun to meet its level of maturity.

  • Perfectly aged. Deep straw colored. Deep petro nose combined with some intense tones of abricot, lime, and green Apples. Full bodied attack, lost of acidity up front. Expands on the mid palate where the rich fruit comes through. The aftertaste is almost tannic, but - wow! - what concentration. The finish lasts for a minute or more, giving room for an intense mesh of citrus, Apples and minerals. Serious wine, drink now or keep for at least ten years.

  • Deep straw, verging on golden color. Seems quite evolved. Expressive nose dominated by citrus (especially lime and a hint of orange zest), verbena, hints of something mentholated, and a clear streak of petroleum and slate. Intriguing. Medium to full bodied, sweet attack on the palate reminiscent of pears, lime, and apples. Quite a lot of dryness gives fullness to the mouthfeel. Then the acidity kicks in at the end, lifting the aftertaste to impressive length. Lime, green apples, verbena and petroleum sits for a long time. This is serious wine, and only beginning to open up now. Will improve for at least the next five years, gain more mineral complexity, and will keep for who knows hos long after that.

  • From the single vineyard "Langenmorgen" directly on the edge of the forest above Deidesheim. It is the coolest GG vineyard in the area. The special thing this year was the fermentation, which lasted around ten months.

The nose is independent and complex: sage, orange zest, ripe pear, lemon cake and slightly lactic notes. The style also continues on the palate, a mouthful of wine, creamy, juicy, has strength and density, but is never plump or too fat. The crisp acidity and the ripe yellow fruit ensure balance and creamy elegance in the long finish. Has not the same precision as the other GGs from this vintage, but a lot of charm. Has a lot of potential and is a long-distance runner!
