Friday, November 16, 2018 - AP 06 17. Drank in Reykjavik after a week and a half of enduring their notoriously bad wine market, so my review may be more positive than it usually would be. You’re struck at first at what a large, burly wine this is. Not in terms of ripeness, but in terms of concentration. A true kabinett in terms of somewhat green fruit and raging acidity - it just seems dialed up a few notches over what I’m used to in a Mosel Kabinett (I didn’t find this to be true with the 2015 iteration of this). Well crafted in its own right, I’m not sure how this would stand up next to another big name Kabinett from this vintage. If you get a good deal or there simply isn’t much else around, I say go for it!
