93 Points

Monday, September 20, 2021 - Deep, opaque ruby. Med (+) black fruit, violets, tar, herbs (fennel), leather, sweet baking spices. Aged 24 mos in French oak barrique and Slavonian oak casks and then another 24 mos in bottle before release. Dry but with really nice black cherry and plum fruit. The acidity, tannins, minerality and alcohol (13.5%) are all med (+). It is drinking well at 7 years but is likely to improve over the next 3 to 10 years. This is a very impressive wine at a reasonable price.
