Friday, November 12, 2021 - Un peu de Bourgogne (+ a Nebbiolo pirate) (Tøyen, Oslo): Double decanted 4h before dinner
Huge nose, complex and deep. Wood and a hint of reductive aromas. Candied nuts, heather, wild strawberries.
Surprisingly, no feel of tannins, silky smooth and juicy. Sweet and bitter, some really dark chocolate. When the fruit fades, there is a long and bitter (forest floor also) finish that lingers on.
Wow, this wine was so complete. The nose had almost everything, the palate was so balanced, both the first attack and the finish. So impressed by this, was expecting it to be a bit more rough, but it remained elegant even though it was so deep and complex. Maybe because of low yields in 2016, the remaining fruit was of extreme quality? Either way, an amazing wine.
