Friday, August 25, 2023 - Fine ruby core with amber rim. Classic nose of somewhat mature bdb: first a whiff of prunes and raisins, then some tobacco and balsamic notes (think furniture polish), and in the end an iron/steely tone. Full bodied attack, medium fruit at first as the mouth is dominated by tannins and acidity. The prunelike fruit fans out on the finish, very nice integrated alcohol gives a sweet mouthfeel, while the acidity adds a citrusy and fresh feel to it all. Heavy, but light. Perfectly mature now, but will keep for decades.
