Still not showing any visible aging, but losing a bit of complexity in the nose. Still full-bodied, needed the two hour decant, fruit is dark, but subdued with a nice acidity. Tannins are soft and integrated. A champ with our all-day short rib ragu over fresh fettuccine. Drink soon.

Same as my last experience with this wine, except we drank it with a pasta Bolognese which accentuated its fruit and brought out the acidity Splash decant, and since my daughter was with us, it disappeared very quickly. Moved on to a Rosso di Montalcino—a Sangiovese by any other name…

Fine ruby core with amber rim. Classic nose of somewhat mature bdb: first a whiff of prunes and raisins, then some tobacco and balsamic notes (think furniture polish), and in the end an iron/steely tone. Full bodied attack, medium fruit at first as the mouth is dominated by tannins and acidity. The prunelike fruit fans out on the finish, very nice integrated alcohol gives a sweet mouthfeel, while the acidity adds a citrusy and fresh feel to it all. Heavy, but light. Perfectly mature now, but will keep for decades.

medium ruby colour with brick-like reflexes. clean and clear. nose: bit dusty; some red cherries plus some leather and earthiness. medium intensity. taste: high acidity; quite large tannins volume - small but pinchy. fruit - red and black cherries. some spice - cloves, cedar wood. Bit bittersh with red cherries stones medium (+) finish. leather/earth. Mineral and quite balsamic. Elegant. very good.

More oak dominated Brunello than expected. Oak and amarana cherry. Last bottle will get a year more in the cellar.
