Sunday, July 5, 2020 - Dark purple fruit - blackberry, currants/cassis, dark cherry, and a little plum. Smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration. Nice rich/vibrant flavors of dark berries, some spice/licorice, and a mineral/graphite component. Fairly long finish. Decanted for one hour and drank over a couple more. Improved with time but drinking quite well after the decant despite its youth. Drank next to the 2012 vintage and the 2016 vintage was considerably better - bigger/fuller fruit, more character/expressive, longer/deeper finish, etc.. A nice vintage of this wine and no surprise of the 97 to 99 rating from WA. 96+ for me at this stage. 100% cab.

Have you tried the 2014 of this wine? Wondering if it is any good?
I have a few of the 15s of this which I absolutely love. Been thinking about grabbing other vintages but it isn't exactly common.

7/5/2020 5:27:00 PM - I was able to purchase the 16 vintage for under $200 because I have a friend that owns a wine store, however, it wasn’t much under $200 and I only bought a bottle.
I did have the 14 vintage and it was really good but it has been a couple years since the last tasting so I can’t comment on where it is at now.
In my opinion, their Janzen Cloudy’s cab is consistently their best cab for the money and one of my favorite cabs year after year for the money when you can find it for around $100. I actually just drank the 16 & 15 vintages side by side this evening and both are really good. Surprisingly the 15 is quite a bit bigger/fuller fruit and one of the best bottles that I’ve had over the past year. The 16 is surprisingly very approachable at this youthful stage - comes across like a more mature cab. I highly recommend their 15 & 16 Cloudy’s cab. Take care.
