Thursday, December 31, 2020 - Dare I say this is a 100 point wine?! CellarTracker says this is a $6000+ btl at auction. I opened this for NYE with my family and I would actually agree that this is the best burgundy I have drunk in a long time. This is my second bottle with similar feeling that this is amazing juice. The nose is ridiculously delicious with candied cherry along with notes of orange and lemon. The wine has some initial fruit of velvety cherry followed by acidity and a super long savory finish that goes on and on and on. Consensus is that at $6000/btl it’s a little ridiculous, but if price is no option, this is an amazing bottle of wine that probably continues to stay great for another 10 years.

12/31/2020 9:04:00 PM - What a way to bring in the New Year!! 1990 was the first Red Burgundy vintage I bought in size and Dujac was certainly at the top of the list (Bonnes Mares, CLDR, CSD and Charmes-Chambertin). Unfortunately, the "one of great vintages of the century" proclamation from Robert Parker did not hold true over time, but Jacques Seysses absolutely crushed it in 1990 (DRC as well). My experience with this wine has been similarly sublime though your bottle sounds like it reached a new level given the perfect score. I agree with your comments on the current $6,000 / bottle market value which is pretty crazy. I try to justify consuming this wine by focusing more on the price on release which was $84.10 / bottle with no problems purchasing a solid case! I keep rationing my 4 remaining bottles, but your review is encouraging me to pull one out sooner rather than later.
