Sunday, September 2, 2007 - Classic Fleurie from a fine vintage. Almost Burgundy in depth of color. Sweet cherries on the nose. Ripe and round on the palette with sweet red fruits and no harsh tannins or tartness. Soft, velvety and feminine as a Fleurie should be. Gentle but with pletty of stuffing with ripe Gamay fruit from this excellent vintage. Not exceptionally complex but perfectly balanced with a long finish. This bodes well for the longevity of the more robust Beaujolais Cru from Morgon and Moulin-a-Vent. An excellent beaujolais for summer consumption.
