Thursday, March 17, 2022 - Clear golden with green brilliant tones. Classic nose first dominated by green apples with hints of sweeter, red apples. Underneath there is those tones of chalk, sea and salt, giving a dry impression. Medium to full bodied attack, lots of green apple fruit in the first part of the tasting curve, then a citrusy acidity kicks in together with a salty tone, culminating in a dry, chalky and citrusy finish that stretches out for almost a minute. This wine is still an adolescent, the mineral tones has only started to emerge, so give it more time. Still a beauty to drink now. Will keep for at least a decade. This confirms my impression that 2017 is one of the top vintages in Chablis in this decade, at least if one admires the more classic style.
