Thursday, March 12, 2009 - Dark ruby-purple colour with an opaque core, looks thick with high extract content. Intense aroma, mostly vegetal (cabbage) and leather, with less fruit. With aeriation the wine opens up, cabbage and leather mostly disappear and then some fine vanilla, smoke and cherry come. In flavour it gives the feeling of first biting a flower of a rose, then nice and fresh acid and quite well integrated, but still young tannins are playing in the mouth. The finish is very-very-very long with cherry, vanilla and black currant. Very exiting and complex with high degree of elegance. This will further evolve by aging. Around $100.
