Friday, March 25, 2016 - Somewhat of a rollercoaster, but excellent overall. Starts (and remains) very earthy aromatically, but with noticeable finishing tannins and being generally somewhat clipped on the palate. After two-three hours of air, though, the game changes. Most notably, an incredibly smooth texture emerges -- and it carries over all the way to the finish such that the prior-mentioned issues absolutely melt away. Compelling and totally gorgeous at that point. What does this mean for the future? Drink now after opening the bottle a couple of hours early, methinks, or wait a couple more years (or many more).....
