90 Points

Friday, July 5, 2019 - Deep ruby color. I get waves of black cherries, bold plums and blueberries, with lots of smoky, earthy, charcoal, anise and mesquite notes. Medium+ bodied with serious grip to the tannins and bright acidity throughout; the balance is impressive on this young wine, though. Black cherries and plums, the fruit is dark and crunchy, mixed well with complex notes of anise, incense sticks, menthol, scorched earth, black pepper glaze, dried leaves. Super spicy but balanced and pleasant as well. Young and dry but this should do wonders in the cellar. Fermented in stainless steel and aged 12 months in oak.
