Saturday, October 24, 2009 - I bought this last week and it may been badly stored, as some wine had escaped through the cork. Reasonably dark colour with some purple still evident. Very pleasant on the nose - meaty with earth, spice and dark fruit and more forest floor than I would have expected, possibly due to storage issue? Tannins evident, but ripe and soft. Quite mineral, not too much fruit, and with a touch of menthol. Very well-balanced with no hotness (something I often notice in Pinot Noirs). I struggle to find enjoyable Burgundy at a price I can afford, but this was one.
