Friday, October 23, 2009 - WFA Bordeaux 2005/2006 Tasting by the Wine Review (Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore): Very nice, but perhaps just a small step down from the 2005. Very nice nose showed almonds and macadamias along with marmalade, citrus mandarin oranges and some chalky mineral - all very lifted and fragrant. A bit too sweet on the palate, but with nice layered flavours of sweet fruit along with some nuts, a little fresh grapefruity lift and a ream of smoke. Finish had a nice marzipan ring to it. A good Sauternes.
