Community Tasting Note

Wednesday, December 13, 2023 - A very out-of-character Amarone. Very light, I tasted this blind and wouldn't have guessed it to be Amarone in a million years.

Appearance: Clear, medium amber.
Nose: Clean, medium intense. Meat, coffee, blackberry, plumb, ripe cherry.
Palate: Dry, medium acidity, medium- soft tannins, medium alcohol, medium- body, medium+ finish. Medium intensity. +liquorice and tomato leaf.

This is a good quality wine; it balances primary fruits and acidity with some early tertiary aromas. For this to be of very good quality the wine would need much more complexity and length.

This wine is suitable for bottle ageing; the combination of prrimary fruit and acidity may just take it somewhere.
