93 Points

Sunday, September 24, 2017 - Not sure I agree with 95 point ratings. I've had several bottles way cheaper than this that have had more complexity. Is this bottle in the "upper crust" of Napa? Yes, definitely. And, when you see Hundred Acre you definitely listen up. This wine is big, massive, bold, yet quite a bit one sided. The thing that makes me most impressed with this wine is the lack of age. It just doesn't seem like this wine is over 5 years old. Has the powerful fruit on the front, and this particular bottle even after 30 minutes was quite powerful on the finish. Still had some acidity, still had some tannin. QPR is atrocious. I ended up drinking the rest of the PNV Farella, 76 Chapellet, and the 2012 Jessup as these wines to me seemed to have a lot more going on.
