Tuesday, December 5, 2017 - This Barbaresco is still young, if you can call an almost 30 y. o. wine. I have the idea that Barbarescos are supposed to be more early drinking, this wine completely changed my perception of Barolo and Barbaresco.
It took 5 hours of double decanting. Barely brown. Still quite dark for a nebbiolo.
Before I opened it I was so afraid that it would be over the hill.
We start drinking at about 1 1/2 hrs after decanting and it was already starting to offer really nice nose, which I thought would have been ample time, it became so much more perfumed at 5 hours.
This wine was purchased at the chateau 3 months ago.
