The winemaker prefers that his wines not be given numerical scores, but it is my habit to score wines to remind myself of my response to the wine. Right now, 97 if you give this ample time to breath (in my case, 12 hours in decanter). With less air the wine may be a bit closed. Down the road, could easily attain 98 or perhaps even 99 at peak, which I believe will be around age 12-15.

But they aren’t aiming for the ultraripe, overtly sweet style of Cerbaiona in 2010. So fans of that specific vintage shouldn’t expect to see that style replicated under the Cerbaiona label!

1/1/2024 3:29:00 PM - Thanks KPB, I've never been a fan of the modernist, small cask producers and thought of the previous Cerbiaona owners as terroir driven & old school. Vintages change. The new regime sounds promising and in my wheel-house. Thanks for waying in!
