Tuesday, September 29, 2009 - Two years since I've had this wine, and it has really smoothed out. Tropical fruits on nose and palate with a hint of coconut. Acidity has been largely absorbed, but is somewhat present in the background. A drying note on the finish. Update: 4 days later poured what little was left into a glass. Wow!! Acidity almost completely folded into the wine, no drying note on the finish. Midpalate has become richer and perhaps a bit sweeter with the addition of a peach note I hadn't noticed earlier. This has happened a few times now, where a bottle of Riesling forgotten in the fridge is better much later when found. I'd score it today @ 92-93 points, realizing that such a score is a complete outlier as compared to other tasters. A great Kabinett.
