The nose is cheerful and youthful showing bright red cherry, licorice, violet, and a vague touch of orange peel. Note terribly complex or expressive, but the profile that's there is quite appealing. The palate enters on sour plum, with medium tannin and medium plus acid, and a short finish which shows licorice. All in all this is a rather straight forward, lightly extracted and enjoyable Beaujoalis, but in my view nothing all that special.
