Monday, December 4, 2023 - Quite enjoyable young Pegau. Wife and I both commented “we should drink them young.” Classic nose: cherry, dirt, iron/rust that distinctive Pegau funk, borderline roasted/stewed. Very lively on the palate. Bright red fruits, tightly wound, ripe, nice sweetness, drying tannins. Hot finish, the alcohol is noticeable. Dry, fine tannins, tight finish but great fruit lingers. Needs to calm down (why we don’t drink all of them young).
