Thursday, December 21, 2023 - If I was handed this blind, I would call it a high-end premier cru Savigny Les Beaune or Pommard. It has very expressive aromas on pop & pour, with a lot of ripe cherry and subtle earthy shrubby herbs. Palate is a pop of red and blue fruit, zings of candy and citrus, but the underlying wet leafy & mushroomy thing we all love about Burg. Medium plus acidity, medium body, 13.9% ABV, but drinks like 13, very nicely balanced. Finish lasts several minutes. This thing is polished, plush, and really really delicious.
