Has smoothed some since opening the first bottle on release. Gorgeous. A little grapey but otherwise well balanced. It tastes great but smells even better.

If I was handed this blind, I would call it a high-end premier cru Savigny Les Beaune or Pommard. It has very expressive aromas on pop & pour, with a lot of ripe cherry and subtle earthy shrubby herbs. Palate is a pop of red and blue fruit, zings of candy and citrus, but the underlying wet leafy & mushroomy thing we all love about Burg. Medium plus acidity, medium body, 13.9% ABV, but drinks like 13, very nicely balanced. Finish lasts several minutes. This thing is polished, plush, and really really delicious.

Beautiful now. Still has legs for a few years. Balanced in all regards, fruit, acid, tannin, feel, finish.

This is solid. Would have guessed burgundy if served blind.

This is in a perfect drinking window right now. Everyone at our dinner party raved at how good it was. DD Laurene never disappoints!
