Saturday, March 16, 2024 - Tasted at Lenkerhof in Lenk, Switzerland. Decanted approx. 1.5h but could easily have gone longer. Highly versatile with an immense variety of flavors. Beautifully layered fruit profile with red berries of raspberry, elements of rhubarb, but also darker cherry notes. Floral perfume wafting out of the glass. Adding both sweet and peppery spice, meaty notes, chocolate, earth and leather with time in the glass. Also herbal notes of dried estragon and oregano. Sumptuous with an incredibly soft texture and plenty of fresh acids. Tannins are round and polished, seamlessly integrated but still add structure and mid palate depth. This is already complex and a wine so easy to fall in love with, even if clearly too young.
