Friday, January 22, 2010 - Recently received this bottle as a gift from a friend who does not have a cellar. i figured that the wine needed to be drank quickly so we did a mini verticle vs. the 2007. When I went to remove the cork it quickly fell apart, oops, worried that it would be flawed. Decanted for a short period. Wine was outstanding, Mark, Rob, and Joe thought it was better than the 07 and loved the wine. Rob said"best wine he's ever tasted"
The 97 was lighter in color and not as heavy in the mouth. Both wines were outstanding and the 07 improved with time. The 97 did not give any indication of being pass it's drinking window.
