Wednesday, December 21, 2016 - From memory. We used this bottle as a reference when tasting older vintage port and LBVs. This one was substantially lighter, both colour (think red burgundy) and footprint, but had balance and a good finish. I would say red (mostly dried) fruits, nuts, and touch of raisins. Not too sweet. Comes across as quite young, although I have no references to say whether this can benefit from aging. We tried it to cote de boeuf and peppercorn sauce (ok), gingerbread and stilton (the better combo) and chocolates (less successful).
