Saturday, October 7, 2023 - [Tasted Double Blind] This pours medium garnet in the glass. The nose is subdued, but oh so pretty showing plum pipe tobacco, gravel, sweet cedar, charcoal, green tobacco leaf, plum, and violets. The palate is quite silky with plum on entry. Tannin is medium minus tannin and medium acid. The finish closes on plum and violet augmented with touches of gravel and pipe tobacco. I guessed 1996 or 1999 Margaux which is a testament to how incredibly well this is holding up. Just lovely stuff. Still plenty of life here in this immaculate bottle.
