Saturday, February 18, 2023 - Tasted blind as part of a small Sangiovese vs Nebbiolo event. From Mg, decanted briefly. Initially somewhat musty, hence would leave enough time for this to breath a bit. A rather dark aroma profile with lots of smoke, scorched earth and black coffee. But there is still a well-defined core of red berry fruit with additions of rose water after a while. On the palate still loads of acidity and tannin, still pretty mouthcoating and in fact coarse. In the end, ok balance but will likely need several more years to fully integrate.
