flawed

Wednesday, July 12, 2023 - Langton's Bordeaux En Primeur 2022 tasting (Langham Hotel, Kent Street, Sydney): A different bottle. And this also shows that herbaceous quality. Palate much of muchness, lots of tannins here as well dryings things out. Must be a bad batch. FLAW

8/4/2023 2:18:00 AM - I think I bumped into you at the Blanc table opposite the entrance doors, from memory you had a page full of handwritten notes which I commented on. I agree with your note on this wine as flawed, it stood out quite poorly in amongst the others

8/4/2023 4:05:00 AM - Quite enjoyable, a good energy in the room and wonderful to taste Bordeaux from barrel on a school night. Fascinating vintage in the context of the environmental factors at play. Having read your notes and resonating with most of them, i differed with the Larcis Ducasse having quite liked the profile, tannins + the freshness . I hope to bump into you again. Really enjoyed reading your Bordeaux notes from the last few vintages as well. You mentioned you lost your bags en-route to Bordeaux did you ever recover them? How annoying 😆

8/4/2023 6:37:00 PM - Ahh, yes, the KLM baggage strike! All was resolved - the bags rocked up on Wednesday just in time for me to snaffle a bottle of Eden Road Malbec that I'd packed and give it to a couple of chums. Added bonus was a $1K payment for the inconvenience!

If you go to tastings you'll probably bump into me, come say "hello"...

    cheers,
