Friday, April 28, 2023 - En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Seven (Bordeaux): Plums, sweet spice, a little slightly herbaceous underpin, touches of red berries, polished oak, unlike the La Mission this feels contained and controlled. Medium plus intensity acidity is super juicy but, unlike the La Chapelle, doesn't seem to lend freshness., there is some alcohol warmth, a little muted plummy fruit, polished and persistent oaky tannins that prove quite smoothly textured but, on this tasting, there is a sense of being disjointed, a slightly meaty note joins on the finish, Hmm.
