Saturday, January 16, 2016 - Damn, It's Cold Out (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Very dark purple color. Decanted for about 30 minutes plus. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. VEry meaty and savory nose, blackberry pie, plum, dried herbs. The palate is dense and inky, blackberry cobbler, roasted meat, gravel, dried herbs, tangy, medium plus finish. The alcohol monster plays here, it comes and goes. If you moves this too vigorously about the mouth it volatizes dramatically and overpowers the wine. If you just let it glide across the palate the alcohol remains fairly contained.
