Saturday, August 9, 2014 - Saturday Summer Wines (Washington, DC): Cherry-cranberry colored. Smells of black cherries, plums, rhubarb and some smoke. Medium-bodied, smooth and juicy on the palate with fresh acid and fine tannins. Juicy black cherries, cranberries dusted with olive tapenade, pepper, pickles and smoke. Elegant but still fruity with some beef drippings, pickles and herbs. Still plenty of time ahead, but showing very well out of the decanter.
