Monday, March 2, 2009 - Deep purple. Attention-getting nose of black fruits, meat and cedar. Plush mouthfeel - a surge of plums, blackberries and raw meat. Mid-palate reveals flashes of oak and alcohol along with waves of spice and tar - long, powerful finish leaving some heat, spice and tar to linger in your mouth for quite a while - acidity and tannins are evident and lead me to believe this might be worth a bit of patience - I'll let my remaining bottles rest for a few years.
