Saturday, July 15, 2017 - My next bottle of this vintage from Pontet Canet, an absolutely perfect cork, poured at first this one is a little subdued, nose of black currant and ripe brambleberry, fresh and elegant appearance on the palate, showing aromas of cedar, vanilla, mushrooms and more earthy tones, great depth and richness in this perfect bottle, has improved very positive by the further cellaring, long lush aftertaste with a convincing mineralic persistence, very good pairing with grilled lamb and pork, a stunning bottle today, this one is surely for me, give it one hour(+) in the decanter , enjoy now and over the next decade, ***(*+?), just a remark to the price tag of this wine, bought 3 bottles in 2005 for a nowadays ridiculously low price, 31€ and therefore the QPR of this bottle is extraordinary!
