Tuesday, December 15, 2009 - Initially smelled of reductive oak (nutty), so I put it in a decanter. But then it looked quite pale and smelled fragile, so I quickly put it back in the bottle before pouring. When I finally got it in the glass, I was surprised to find a perfumed, velvety and medium-bodied wine. Classic undergrowth, but it tannins are starting to fade. After some 20 minutes, it startet to tighten up but was still very nice in a different way. But 20 minutes later, it was getting a bit scrawny and started showing some stemmy tones. The best 98 villages I've had, but there is no point in cellaring this any further.
