Wednesday, December 5, 2012 - A bit of a roller coaster here. Day one, not entirely enjoyable. I think it's VA not brett, but on day one it's distracting, and a bit of a masochistic exercise. By day 2 it blows off for the most part. Rounder and more supple day two. More on the red fruit side of pinot, with some savory mix , nice texture, and reasonable structure. A nice mouthfeel, and of reasonable size body, but not clumsy. This is completely enjoyable if not terribly complex. No barn burner, and honestly not very enjoyable day one, but this fleshed out, gained balance and depth overnight. Something I would serve an in law on day one. Quite enjoyable if not a revelation on day two. Certainly good for the tariff. 88 pts
