Saturday, February 21, 2009 - Dark as it gets. Not much on the nose initially -- after coaxing, some dark berries, charred oak and a savory/meaty element. Palate didn't show much fruit -- mostly just meat/beef blood. Finish was incredibly tannic -- not surprising for a PS -- but without a lot of fruit, this was not all that enjoyable. The next day the nose and palate were somewhat better but still not my favorite Carlisle -- score reflects the improvement after 24 hours.
