In a good window and similar to my previous tasting notes, albeit a bit more subdued. Dark fruits, cassis and some earth on the nose. Tannins evident and not fully integrated, but not aggressive either. Very tasty!
A bit tight at first but opened up quickly in the glass. Nice rich dark fruit flavors, ripe but not overly so. Soft tannins and drinking well now so I don't expect much improvement. BUT . . . this does not say Petite to me at all. My wife was shocked when she saw the label. I don't need Petite to be a teeth staining brawny monster, but this bottle did not seem to show the varietal character at all. Overall a nice but not very complex high 80s table red.
