Sunday, July 10, 2011 - Salone di Grandi Vini Bianchi (Mirabelle Restaurant Austin, Texas): Vermentino, this was straw-coloured, quite exotic, with a petrol, mineral, caramel nose. It resembled a Riesling. Had an overtone of sweetness and was viscous, with flavor notes of Japanese pear, forest floor, green apple, and nuts. Most tasters enjoyed this wine much, and it went well with our ceviche.
