Saturday, May 13, 2017 - On opening this was not offering up much aromatically. This needed about 90 minutes to open up, offering lavender, leather, and menthol notes. On the palate this has good acidity, but there was some heat that made the wine less enjoyable for me. Black fruits, iron notes, pepper, and very dry tannin. This has good length on the finish but the heat detracts from this being more elegant.

Not a great bottle experience for me on day 1. Half the bottle to be stored and consumed on day 2.

Day 2 - Largely consistent notes from day 1 including the heat that persisted. Concentrated black fruits with pronounced pepper.

My overall assessment is this bottle did not have the complement of aroma and flavor I have experienced with prior Sixtine wines. This seemed to forsake balance and elegance for concentration and alcohol.
