On the palate this is very ripe, with liqueur-like sweet cherry fruit, concentrated and loaded with glycerine. Perhaps it's the vintage, but this lacks freshness; the fruit seems almost to have been cooked down slightly and concentrated. The wine has slightly astringent, moderately chewy tannins, and decent acidity, but as a whole it's not working for me. Besides being one-note it thins out quickly on the finish, and shows a bit of alcohol. Thinking this might be just awkward and in need of time we corked up half the bottle overnight, but it's still a little disjointed, and now shows hints of oxidation now as well. Hopefully an off bottle, as otherwise this is a disappointment from Garagiste.
