Wednesday, June 8, 2011 - Pale peachy pink. Shy fresh flower and red berry nose. I worked very hard to discern that this wine was pinot noir, but it presented on its own terms. The entry is unabashedly sweet, overwhelming any more subtle flavors except for some (welcome) bitterness at the edges. The finish would count as the highlight, balanced white stone and red fruit with a decent tart zing. I thought this would be a good wine for a Spanish-style slow-cooker chicken dinner, but perhaps it better serves a light fruity dessert, such as sorbet.
