Friday, April 5, 2024 - Good, and pretty typical of the vintage. Nice dark color, the nose is not of violets but of saddle leather and a touch of cedar. This is light- to middle-weight on the palate but shows good ripeness, and the wine has vigor. As an aperitif it's subtle. With a filet mignon finished in the oven, it's very complimentary. This has aged better than many might expect for the pedigree and the vintage. I have two more bottles and they can hold for a while, though I will probably drink them before more reputed wines of more reputed vintages.
