Rich and full bouquet on the nose that takes just a bit of swirling to coax out. On the palate, cherries, leather. Tannins are quite prominent on the finish if drinking without food.

I had 12 of these, 6 bottles from two different sources. I hope I'm not going to find myself playing russian roulette with the remaining 10 bottles (e.g. 1 good, 1 bad).

Followup note - this seems to develop quite quickly in the glass, becoming darker and more monolithic on the palate, very light hints of something like "cooked" and a big pop from the tannins which ultimately creates an out-of-balance situation. Not the direction I was hoping for.
