95 Points

Monday, March 30, 2020 - Popped, breathed in bottle 4 hours, consumed over next two hours. The nose on this was incredible right from the pop. On the palate, when I first tasted upon opening, I had some misgivings. 4 hours of slow ox later, the palate had transformed and was beginning to deliver on the promise of the incredible aromatics. Took about 30 more minutes in the glass for everything to come forward, play in absolute harmony and provide a memorable Brunello experience. Intense, yet weightless, complex, beautifully balanced with mouth watering acidity and an expanding, lingering finish. Still, I feel this wine is just beginning to show tertiary development, so I suspect it has even more to give. If I had another bottle, I'd love to revisit and see how it develops over the next five years.
